Ad Lib Releases Rare Beer for Harrisburg Beer Week

All of Harrisburg is buzzing about Harrisburg Beer Week and Ad Lib is excited to join the celebration! Although there will be more than 200 events over the next nine days, and 100s of amazing beers, we are the only place in Central PA with the sought after Great Lakes Brewing Company Barrel Aged Barley Wine.

What is Barley Wine?

Although wine appears in the name, barley wine is not made from fruit and is actually a strong ale brewed with malt and hops. Great Lakes Brewing Company’s version is aged for 12 months in bourbon barrels. The flavor is described by the brewery as “A full-bodied barley wine with a smooth, velvety taste and mellow hop nose.”

Limited Release

When we say rare, we mean it! Ad Lib is the only place within 100 miles of Harrisburg to offer this beer and we are tapping it on Friday, April 21st for our Great Lakes Brewing Company Beer Dinner with Wilsbach Distributers. We will continue to serve it until it runs out. We will also be offering a limited version of the beer dinner menu all week so stop by any night for a Barley Wine celebration!

No matter which Harrisburg Beer Week kick-off event you are attending this weekend, remember that Ad Lib has live music all weekend at our Late Night Happy Hour (Friday & Saturday, 10 – midnight) and at our Spontaneous Brunch on Sundays.
